New manager takes helm at Worthington Hardee's

Davinne "Davi" Peterson began working as manager at Worthington's Hardee's restaurant on Sept. 4.

WORTHINGTON -- After working as a supervisor for three and a half months at the Hardee's in Spencer, Iowa, Davinne "Davi" Peterson has moved up to the manager's post at the restaurant chain's Worthington location.

Peterson, whose husband also works at the Worthington Hardee's, is originally from Spirit Lake, Iowa. She has a grown daughter and granddaughter, as well as an 8-year-old daughter still at home. Davinne, her husband and young child recently relocated to Worthington for Peterson's new position, in which she began her duties Sept. 4.

"My husband had been working in restaurant management at a different restaurant, and my neighbor worked there and knew I needed a job," Peterson said of her start in April at Spencer's Hardee's. "Before that, I had worked in administrative quality assurance for a telemarketing firm out of Spencer, and then I was a stay-at-home mom. ... I didn't work for two and a half years. With the skills that I have, there were no jobs because of this work economy."

Peterson will be working mostly days in Worthington, and is already anticipating improvements at the restaurant as she gets settled in. One change she's hoping for are new booths in the dining area, though no definitive timeline has been set for that project.

"The most important thing right now is to build a better crew for customer satisfaction," Peterson said.

Of course, Peterson is hoping that a couple of additions to the menu will satisfy customers, too.

"One of the newest things we've added is a Memphis BBQ Thickburger, and for breakfast we're pushing the bacon bacon biscuit -- it has Canadian bacon and regular bacon," she said.

Worthington's Hardee's, located at 1601 Oxford St,, is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays as well as Saturdays. It's open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Fridays and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays.
