Applications sought for rural broadband auction
WASHINGTON — The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is now accepting applications from broadband providers for grants that aim to provide service for up to 1 million unserved or underserved homes and small businesses in rural areas across the country.
The board estimates 95 homes and businesses in Nobles County are eligible for support, along with several hundred locations in surrounding counties.
Providers can apply here: auctions.fcc.gov. The auction will begin on July 24.
