Adelia Evelyn Hawkinson

Adelia Evelyn Hawkinson was born on January 9, 1925 to Peter and Lela (Bell) Wiese in Round Lake Township, Jackson County. She moved with her family to Brewster, MN, where she graduated from Brewster Public Schools. Adelia was united in marriage to Russell Hawkinson on January 5, 1949 at First Lutheran Church in Worthington. They were married for 64 years. Adelia worked at Kinsmans Grocery Store, which later became A & C Grocery Store and was a cook at Central Elementary School in Worthington. She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Worthington, being involved in various activities including Project Group and Bible Study. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking and was a very good mother and loved spending time with family. Adelia died on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington, MN.

Adelia is survived by her daughters, Mary (Pete) Hansen of Minneapolis, MN, Patty Cowdin of Worthington, MN, Becky Spaulding of Bloomington, MN and Amy (Al) Ebbers of Worthington, MN; sons, Daniel of Fulda, MN, Roger (Jan) of Lakefield, MN and Alan of Edina, MN; grandchildren include Amber (Steve) Oryszczyn, Peter Hansen, Nathan Cowdin, Jaimee (Ryan) Crowley, Bryan Cowdin, Rachel Cowdin, Matthew (Shannon) Cowdin, Jennifer Walther, Allison Walther, Karissa (Cody) Reverts, Erin Ebbers, Sarah Ebbers, Chris Hawkinson, Jerrod (Lindsey) Schubert and Mara Hawkinson (fianc Colton); eight great grandchildren; and four sisters, Gladys Weibel, Lue Karstens, Alice Kansanback and Linda Warden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; daughter, Jeanie; granddaughter, Angie; parents; brothers, Bob Wiese, Harold Wiese, Clarence Wiese and Paul Wiese and many other loved ones.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Rev. Richard Ricker officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.

Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
