Mitch Jensen came on in relief to record the save for Cubs starter Adam Munkel, and he started the inning in fine fashion, striking out the first hitter. But the next hitter walked, and next came a double. The first run of the inning came home on a sacrifice fly, and Martin County's Jon Traetow followed with a score-tying double. The winning run crossed the plate on an infield error.

Munkel was unable to get the win despite hurling seven innings of 1-hit ball. He struck out 11 and didn't allow an earned run.

Worthington out-hit Martin County 9-3 but committed six errors.

Steve Zehms recorded the win.

Munkel had two hits, including a home run, in the game. Cubs teammate Joe Joswiak had two hits and Josh Wasmund hit a two-bagger.
