Amateur Baseball: Lakers fall to Lamberton
LAMBERTON -- The Lamberton Long Sox's Dylan Bunting shut down the Heron Lake Lakers offense in a 10-3 win during a non-conference amateur baseball game Tuesday.
The Long Sox took a 3-0 lead after two innings, but the Lakers scored two runs in the fourth to make it a one-run game. However, from there on, the Long Sox outscored the Lakers 7-1 over the final five innings to get the win.
Garet Rogers took the loss for the Lakers, with Chad Knutson pitching the final three innings in relief. Seth Guetter came in to get the save for the Long Sox in the sixth.
Rogers led Heron Lake at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Luke Henkels and Lucas Knutson had the other two hits for the Lakers. Jacob Olson walked three times and scored a run.
Johnny Pistulka and Logan Willhite each went 3-for-4 for the Long Sox, with Willhite picking up two triples and two RBIs.
The Lakers (5-3) travel to Lakefield today.
