WINDOM -- The Heron Lake Lakers mixed steady scoring with a six-run fourth inning and were bolstered by a complete-game effort on the mound by Matt Franks in a 12-3 victory against the Windom Pirates in a First Nite League amateur baseball game on Tuesday night.

Franks struck out seven and walked only one batter in his winning performance. Charlie Dunnick (4 1/3 innings pitched) took the loss for Windom.

Lon Eichenberger was a catalyst on offense for Heron Lake, recording a double and driving in four runs in a 2-for-6 day at the plate.

Eric Milbrath was 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Lakers, Ethan Duffy was 2-for-3 with a double, Ike Rogers was 2-for-5 with an RBI and Kirk McBreen was 2-for-6 with an RBI.

Kody Johnson led the Pirates by going 2-for-3 with a double, a stolen base and an RBI. Tyler Knutson was 2-for-5, Dane Nielsen was 2-for-4, Brett Mattson was 2-for-3 and Matt Anderson was 1-for-3 with a two-run single.

Heron Lake (6-6, 4-3) will play at Tracy on Sunday at 1 p.m. and then will play immediately afterwards in Minneota at 4:30 p.m.

Windom (3-4) hosts Luverne today.
