Amateur baseball: Wilmont shuts down Pipestone

WILMONT — Wilmont pitcher Lucas Henning was dominant Sunday as he led the Cardinals to a 6-0 Gopher League win over Pipestone.

Henning went eight innings in the win, striking out 12 and walking no one while scattering just five hits in the process.

The Cards got on the board in the third before two runs in the fifth and two more in the seventh put it away.

Blake Rogers had three hits, including a home run and a double, along with three runs driven in. Jay Scheidt added three hits of his own and scored twice.
