Area Baseball: A's top Sioux Falls at home
ADRIAN -- Nick Meyer pitched three scoreless innings to pick up the win in an 18-2 victory for the Adrian A's over the Sioux Falls Saints Friday.
The A's scored three in the first to take a 3-0 lead, but the Saints scored a run in the second and the third to pull within one. However, Adrian's offense exploded for 15 runs over the next three innings to get the win.
The A's scattered 14 hits, with Ross Ackermann going a perfect 5-for-5, including a home run and two doubles to lead the team at the plate.
Joe Kruger went 3-for-5 for Adrian, while Jason Stubbe and Meyer each had two hits.
The A's (3-3) travel to Pipestone Sunday.

Worthington 12, Okabena 3
WILMONT -- Nathan Ray went 3-for-4 with three doubles to help lead Worthington to a 12-3 victory over Okabena in an American Legion baseball game Friday night at Butts Probst Field.
Blake Rogers was 2-for-3 with four RBIs, stroking a two-run triple and a two-run double for Worthington. Tyler Hatterman and Jordan Bertrand also had two hits apiece.
Deron Soderholm, Logan Rogers, Bertrand and Ray each saw time on the mound for Worthington, combining to strike out a total of 18 batters.
Aaron Fest and Ryan DeWall each pitched for Okabena, working four and two innings, respectively.
Austin Rossow and Mark Ferguson were each 2-for-3, while Jacob Getzel (two RBIs) and Logan Knutson (RBI) each had a run-scoring base hit for Okabena.

St. James 1, Worthington 0
ST. JAMES -- Worthington opened its American Legion baseball season Thursday, losing 1-0 to St. James after the home team scored on a squeeze play in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Nathan Ray had two of Worthington's five hits. Ray, Mitchell Baumhoefner, Blake Rogers and Ryan Lee each pitched for Worthington.
