Arline Gladys Post, daughter of Christ and Louise (Baumgard) Mittelstadt, was born on December 11, 1928 on her parents farm in Rost Township. Arline was baptized January 20, 1929 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Rost and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster. Arline graduated from Brewster High School in 1946. Arline worked at Johnson Drug Store in Brewster until she married.
Arline married Gilbert Post on January 2, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in Ewington Township for five years. In 1954, the couple moved to Hunter Township, south of Lakefield, where they farmed side by side for 43 years. She was a very active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for 38 years, where she served in the Ladies Aide, Alter Guild, and taught Sunday school. The couple enjoyed trips across Europe and throughout the United States.
In 1992, the couple moved to their present home in Worthington. They became members of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, where she was active in Ladies Aide. The couple spent winters in Arizona and California.
Arline enjoyed gardening and tending to her many flowers. She was a member of the Brewster Legion Drum and Bugle Corp that performed at various community celebrations. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and meeting new friends from all over the country while traveling in their camper. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Arline passed away on Wednesday morning, April 30, 2014, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN. She was 85 years old.
Arline is survived by her husband, Gilbert; five children, Pam (Dennell) Vulcan of Nicollet, MN, Sheila (Mark) McBroom of Chatfield, MN, Terry (Gail) Post of Lakefield, MN, Brian (Melanie) Post of Lakefield, MN, and Brenda (Scott) Rosin of East Troy, WI, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Alvin (Arlene) Mittelstadt of Windom, MN.
Arline was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Vera, Eleanor, and Lorena.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Bart Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
