Ashton celebrates Town and Country Days

ASHTON, Iowa — The city of Ashton is preparing for Town and Country Days Friday and Saturday. The event features a flea market and craft show starting at 9 a.m. Saturday. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, and the event culminates in a dance at 9 p.m.

A full schedule of events is as follows:


6-9 p.m.: Town and Country snack shack open


9 a.m.-1 p.m.: Flea market/craft show

9 a.m.-Noon: Archery in the park, sponsored by Osceola County Conservation Board

10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Kids’ activities (inflatables, train rides, face painting)

10 a.m.: Fire truck rides by the Ashton Volunteer Fire Department

10 a.m.: Catholic Daughters food booth open

10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Town and Country snack shack open

11 a.m.: Kids’ pedal tractor pull

1 p.m.: Parade

Following parade: DeBoer Grocery Museum open

2 p.m.: Bean bag tournament

2 p.m.: Old Timers’ softball game

9 p.m.-1 a.m.: Dance with music by Barracuda Entertainment
