Blood drive set for Thursday at SWMC
WORTHINGTON — A community blood drive will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Sanford Worthington Medical Center.
“Whether you are a first time blood donor or have donated multiple times, your donation will impact patients’ lives,” said Rita Nelson, donor recruitment director for Community Blood Bank. “Please consider donating blood at this blood drive to ensure an adequate spring blood supply. When you donate blood, you save up to three patients’ lives, and 22 percent of all donations are used to help treat cancer patients. It only takes 20 to 25 minutes to donate with Community Blood Bank.”
Donors need to be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with a signed parent consent form
found at www.cbblifeblood.org), be in general good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood. Donors with recent tattoos or body piercings will be accepted. Bring valid identification with you to the blood drive.
