Boys basketball: Redwood Valley defeats Luverne; Minneota tops Fulda
REDWOOD FALLS — Despite an outstanding offensive performance from Luverne’s Josh Slieter, Redwood Valley rolled to a 78-54 Southwest Conference boys basketball victory Saturday.
Moving out to a 45-24 halftime lead, the hosts maintained the lead in the second half to win convincingly. Thane Widmer led the home team in scoring with 15 points, Cade Johnson added 13, and Taquez Perkins and San Pendleton each tallied 10.
Pendleton also had nine assists in the game and Perkins had eight rebounds.
Slieter scored 34 points and had 11 rebounds for Luverne. He converted 14 of 23 field goals and six of seven free throws for the game.
Quinton Siebenahler scored 10 points for LHS. Nicholas Overgaard and Blake Ziegler had six assists apiece for Luverne.

Minneota 70, Fulda 49
FULDA — Minneota widened a 15-point halftime lead to earn a runaway win at Fulda.
Dylan Tolk led the Vikings with 23 points while Josh Ramerth paced his Raiders with 19. Ramerth also had seven rebounds. Justin Dierks added 13 points for Fulda.
Fulda travels to Southwest Christian Tuesday.
