SHERBURN —The Windom Area Eagles played solid defense and kept Martin County West off the offensive glass to earn a narrow boys basketball victory over the Martin County West Mavericks Friday night.


Jacob Gotto led Windom with 17 points and two assists and Sam Huska added 13 points and three assists.

MCW was led by senior Cordell Weber who scored 23.

T-M-B 74, Luverne 56

LUVERNE — Tracy-Milroy-Balaton took advantage of a strong first half to earn a non-conference victory over the Luverne Cardinals.

T-M-B was led by Derek Larson who had 23 points. Josh Kirk had 20 and Riley Kirk had 11.

Josh Slieter led the Cardinals with 13 points and Blake Richters contributed nine.

Three-point shots were what swayed the game in T-M-B’s favor. T-M-B made 12 threes to Luverne’s three.

Hills-Beaver Creek 68, Red Rock Central 24

LAMBERTON — The Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots took over in the second half for a Red Rock Conference victory over the Red Rock Central Falcons.

Dylan Gehrke let the victorious Patriots with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Carey Taubert contributed 13 to go along with six boards. I

saac Tilstra scored 10 and sophomore Cooper Vaughn stole the ball five times. Brady Ellingson also added nine points and four assists.

Thomas Blomgren scored 10 for the Falcons and Sam Halter and Austin Price each had nine points and nine rebounds.

H-BC improves to 6-8 overall and 5-5 in the conference. RRC continues to search for their first victory as they fall to 0-14 and 0-10 in the conference.

Rock Valley 80, G-LR 40

GEORGE, Iowa — Andrew Van Ginkel went out of his mind in the first half of the Rock Valley’s victory over the George-Little Rock Mustangs.

Van Ginkel scored all of his 29 points in the first half. Jerod Hansen also added 15 for the Rockets.

Jesse Koerselman crashed the boards hard and came down with 10 rebounds.

Rock Valley improves to 11-3 as G-LR falls to 6-8.

Central Lyon 55 West Lyon 53

ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa — Grant Metzger hit a buzzer beater after grabbing an offensive rebound to defeat the West Lyon Wildcats.

Metzger had 16 points and 10 rebounds along with being the hero of the night. Sophomore CJ Roths also scored 16 and had four assists. Nic Lutmer grabbed 13 points along with eight points.

Bradon Snyder led all scorers with 23 on the night. Cody Bauman added 11.

Central Lyon improves to 8-6 overall and 6-6 in the Siouxland conference. West Lyon was dealt only its second loss of the season, falling to 12-2.

Sheldon 66, Okoboji 48

MILFORD, Iowa — Everybody contributed for Sheldon as they defeated the Okoboji Pioneers with solid defense.

The Orabs were led by Turner Dejong with 17 points and three steals. Collin Wolthizen scored 14 and blocked 4 shots. Dylan Ennema added 12 and Ian Jongewaard had a double double with ten points and ten rebounds. Matt Buenger also dished out 3 assists.

Holt Hunziker led the Pioneers with 17 points and Tyeson Barnett had 14.

The Orabs improve to 5-9 and 4-8 in conference play. Okoboji falls to 2-12.
