Brewster snowmobile fatality

BREWSTER – A Brewster man was killed in a snowmobile accident early Sunday morning when he rolled the snowmobile and was ejected, according to Nobles County Chief Deputy Chris Heinrichs.

Dana Stenzel, 29, formerly of Heron Lake, was snowmobiling north of the Minnesota Soybean Processors plant in Brewster according to the incident report.

Stenzel was ejected from the sled as it rolled, and his body hit a street sign, causing several injuries resulting in death, Heinrichs said.

The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Brewster Rescue and Worthington Ambulance were dispatched to the scene at 12:13 a.m. Sunday. Stenzel was transported to the Sanford Worthington emergency room, where he was pronounced dead.

The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the accident.
