Zimmer: It's 'possible' Bridgewater could be out for season

Brief: LCRWS awards pipeline contract

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Lewis & Clark Regional Water System's Board of Directors has awarded a $3,764,000 contract for Treated Water Pipeline -- Segment 10 (TWP-10) to Morgan Contracting of Albertville. The low bid was substantially below the engineer's estimate of $5,187,315.

TWP-10 is five miles of 30 foot and 24 foot diameter steel pipe that will be constructed southeast of Sioux Falls and is the first segment of the Minnesota Transmission Line. Seven cities and rural water systems in Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa will ultimately receive water from service lines connected to the Minnesota Transmission Line when it is completed, including: Minnehaha Community Water Corp.; Rock Rapids, Iowa; Luverne; Rock County Rural Water District; Lincoln Pipestone Rural Water System; Worthington; and Sibley, Iowa.

When completed, Lewis & Clark will provide water to more than 300,000 people through its 20 member cities and rural water systems in the tri-state region, encompassing a service area the size of Connecticut.
