Car versus train crash in Iowa
DOON, Iowa -- The Lyon County Sheriff's Office is investigating a car versus train crash that happened at approximately 9:14 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 120th Street and Dogwood Avenue in Doon, Iowa.
The release states Jessica Knobloch, 19, of Doon, was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix south on Dogwood Avenue and was struck by a ballast regulator being operated by Jeff Dolge, 55, of Sioux Falls, S.D. The ballast regulator is owned by BNSF Railways of Sioux Falls.
Knobloch and passenger Clifford Logan, 27, of Rock Rapids, Iowa, were transported by ambulance to a hospital in Rock Rapids. Passenger Jessie Bathke, 19, of George, Iowa, was transported to a Luverne hospital, then taken to Sioux Falls with minor injuries. Another passenger, Candra Knobloch, 25, of Rock Rapids, was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
