Christine Kazemba took the loss for West in the opener in a route-going performance. Only two of the runs she gave up were earned.

Jenny Majerus was 2-for-3 for the Lady Jays while Kazemba and Hermeling each had a hit and a run scored.

In the second game, Jurnea Harberts took the pitching loss, allowing six earned runs in going the distance.

Bailey Tish went 2-for-3 and scored one of West’s two runs. Majerus tripled in the third inning and scored a run.

Minnesota West, 5-16 on the season, made seven errors in the first game and six in the second.

“It just comes down to defense. We just gotta make the plays behind the pitchers. And we’re not always doing that right now,” said head coach Rosalie Hayenga-Hostikka.
