College volleyball: Minnesota West sweeps Anoka-Ramsey
COON RAPIDS — The Minnesota West volleyball team won its season opener Wednesday night in convincing fashion, beating host Anoka-Ramsey 3-0 on scores of 25-23, 25-11 and 25-20.

“We’re really excited to start with a win in our season opener,” said West head coach Marie Johnson, who indicated that the team communicated well together and did an excellent job on the front row at placing the ball. The Jays need to continue on maintaining a high level of intensity, she said.
West let down a little bit in the third set, falling behind 8-2 before rallying to win.
Morgan Harberts had 20 set assists and three ace serves in the match for Minnesota West. Paige Kinley had 10 digs and Brittney Hermeling had eight.
