Column: District 518 offering summer school credit recovery options
By NATE HANSON, District 518
WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Area Learning Center (ALC) is an alternative model that provides a variety of educational programs leading to a high school diploma. (Note: Any student from our area should communicate with their school counselor or principal to see if they qualify for summer school credit recovery options.)
Summer School is in the month of June (a student can earn up to 1.5 credits). High school summer school gives students the opportunity to make up missed credits from the regular school year in core academic/elective areas. You can visit our website for class offerings at: http://www.isd518.net/alc. To receive credit for a class, students must attend all class sessions and complete all homework assignments.
Summer school classes are for ninth- through 12th-graders. Our classes will run from Monday, June 2 through Friday, June 27 (Monday through Friday). If you are interested in enrolling or learning more about what the Worthington Area Learning Center has to offer for credit recovery options, please contact the ALC at 372-1322 or me, the Alternative Learning principal, at 372-1605 or email@example.com.
Who qualifies for Credit Recovery at the Worthington Area Learning Center?
