WORTHINGTON — The halls were bustling with excitement at Worthington Christian School this week as students and teachers celebrated WCS Spirit Week. This tradition runs deep in our school and is enjoyed by all.

Tuesday was Duck Dynasty Day. Everyone hauled out their camouflage attire and did their best to fit into the hit reality TV show’s Robinson family. Students and teachers alike showed their WARRIOR PRIDE on Wednesday, sporting blue and white school colors. Their were even a few painted faces and crazy blue/white, mohawk hairstyles! Thursday was Super Hero Day, which brought many original favorites and uniquely created heroes through the school doors — all proclaiming their super powers! Everyone is relaxing today for Pajama Day Friday. With slippers and blankies in tow, we close out Spirit Week by spending the afternoon watching a movie together in the gym. Students who participated in this week’s dress-up days earned tickets to purchase concession goodies during the movie intermission. Parents and siblings of WCS students are invited and encouraged to come relax and join the fun.

On Saturday, Jan. 25, the WCS Basketball Tournament will bring eight boys and girls teams to town from Chandler Christian School, Sioux Falls Lutheran School, Fulda St. Paul Lutheran and Marshall Area Christian School. We are looking forward to hosting this event for our fifth- through eighth-grade students and encourage community members to visit the WCS gym from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for exciting basketball action.

The goal of Worthington Christian School is to educate children in the light of God’s word and to prepare them for a life of service to God, to his creation and to their community.
