Column: WHS fall sports ready for action
By JOSH DALE, District 518
WORTHINGTON — Worthington fall sports are off and running! The varsity football team completed their first week of practice this week. All other high school fall sports begin Aug. 11.
Middle school athletes in boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer, girls’ tennis and cross country start their season on Aug. 11. Middle school football will begin on Aug. 19, and middle school volleyball on Aug. 25.
The activity department would like to remind all student-athletes and parents to turn in their Worthington athletic participation form, physical and pay fees before the start of the season. These forms can be picked up at the high school or middle school offices.
The Worthington School District would like to encourage the community to support our student-athletes throughout the fall season. Homecoming week will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 2, with coronation scheduled for 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. During homecoming week we will have a variety of home sporting events including volleyball, soccer and football.
Please check out the high school website for a complete list of school events. The activity department would like to thank you for your continued support for Trojan athletics.
Josh Dale is District 518’s activities director.
