Council talks land offer in closed meeting
WORTHINGTON — The Worthington City Council went into closed session — twice — Monday to discuss two different items.
According to the materials provided by the city, the parcel is 17.68 acres in total. However, City Administrator Craig Clark said that parcel has yet to be subdivided. A new lot layout would eventually make it an eight-acre site. City staff revealed who had submitted the offer to the council following the closure of the meeting. The meeting was closed at 5:16 p.m. and reopened at 6:07 p.m.
Director of Community/Economic Development Brad Chapulis, City Finance Director Brian Kolander and Worthington Regional Economic Development Corporation Manger Abraham Algadi were present with the city council and mayor during the first closed session.“We had a conversation about an offer that was presented and based on the conversation, we’ve been given parameters to continue negotiations,” Chapulis said following the meeting. The second part of the meeting Monday was the performance evaluation of Clark, who has been employed with Worthington for the past five years as the city administrator. That closed session lasted more than an hour.“It was a favorable review,” Worthington Mayor Alan Oberloh said.
