The second vehicle, a 2005 Ford Freestyle, was driven by Robert Carstensen, 33, of Wilmont. Carstensen was also transported to SRHW, where he was treated for injuries and later released.

Authorities and rescue personnel were dispatched at approximately 8:05 a.m. to the scene near the intersection of Nobles County 25 and 170th Street. According to Nobles County Sheriff Kent Wilkening, weather and road conditions were a factor in the crash.

"It was slippery, slushy and snow-packed," Wilkening said. "One just lost control and went into the path of the other."
