Competing in a field of 190 finishing runners, representing 29 colleges and universities from throughout the Midwest, Musa placed 66th with a 10,000-meter time of 32:02.52, which averages out to a 5:09.4 per mile pace.

In a close team chase, dominated by three Oklahoma schools, the Oklahoma Sooners (3-5-10-11-16) nipped rival Oklahoma State (2-4-7-12-20) for the team championship on the sixth-runner tiebreaker, 17-28, after both teams finished with 45 points.

Tulsa was close behind with a score of 47, while Illinois was a distant fourth with 154 points.

The Minnesota Gophers were seventh with 221 points, while South Dakota State and USD placed 11th and 12th, respectively, in the team standings with scores of 340 and 379.
