Worthington Mayor Alan Oberloh cast a tie-breaking vote Monday night opposing a project hearing regarding a petition for the surfacing of 27th Street, 29th Street and North Rose Avenue. Oberloh, along with two city councilmen, property owners and others will meet as a committee to further consider the proposed project. The information was incorrect in Tuesday's Daily Globe.

Accidents

WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Police Department investigated an accident reported at 5:02 p.m. Monday from Humiston Avenue.

GEORGE, Iowa -- The Lyon County Sheriff's Office investigated a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning at 102 W. Calumet in George. Shirley Krull, 70, of George, was backing a 2001 Toyota van out of a driveway and collided with a 1996 Chevrolet Impala owned by Miranda Wassenaar, 23, of George. The van sustained no damage; the Impala sustained $2,100 in damages. There were no injuries.

Ambulance

WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Ambulance was dispatched at 6:36 p.m. Monday to 1936 Dorothea Blvd., to assist an ill female.

Marriage licenses

The Nobles County Recorder issued the following marriage licenses in February: Blay Blaw Say and Say Ka Paw, both of Fulda; Ashley Lynn Hammer and Jason Michael Jacobson, both of Lake Park, Iowa; Brenda Alexis Beall and Saul Piceno Valtierra, both of Worthington; Cassandra Jean Schreiber and Matthew Peter Nelson, both of Worthington.
