Accidents

SIBLEY, Iowa — The Osceola County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident at 4:59p.m. Friday as approximately 14 motorcycles were traveling westbound on Highway 9, approaching the intersection of Northwest Boulevard in rural Osceola County. Serge Jacques, age 42 of Feugerolles, France, was riding a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle, and was stopped at the intersection. Renee Nadine, 53 of Malmont, France was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle, and was approaching the intersection and did not see Jacques had stopped at the stop sign and rear ended the back of his motorcycle.

Jacques was ejected forward, into the intersection from the impact of the collision. Nadine was ejected towards the left shoulder of the highway from the impact of the collision. Guy Andre, 56 of Firminy, France was riding a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle further behind Jacques and Nadine. Andre lost control of the motorcycle once he saw the collision take place and laid the bike onto its left side.

Andre sustained no injuries from the collision, Nadine sustained incapacitating injuries and was taken to the Osceola Community Hospital where she was later airlifted to McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. Jacques sustained incapacitating injuries and was taken to the Osceola Community Hospital. Nadine’s motorcycle sustained approximately $1,500 damage. Jacques’ motorcycle sustained approximately $2,900 damage. Andre’s motorcycle sustained approximately $1,000 damage.

The Sibley Ambulance, Sibley Fire and Rescue and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department responded to an accident at 10:16 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Oxford Street and Diagonal Road.

SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa — The Dickenson County Sheriff’s Department investigated a motorcycle accident at 2:31 p.m. Sunday. Three motorcycles were being driven westbound on Highway 9. The lead vehicle was intending to turn south onto 270 Avenue. The following two didn’t recognize the lead bike was turning and ran into the rear of the lead bike. Eli Lacour, 20, of Worthington, was treated and released on the scene. He was cited for failure to stop within an assured clear distance. Gerald Lacour, 51, of Worthington was also treated and released on the scene. Galen Krogman, 55, of Lismore was transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare by ambulance. The Spirit Lake Police, Arnolds Park Police, Spirit Lake Ambulance and Spirit Lake First Responders assisted on the scene.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Ambulance was dispatched at 6:59 p.m. Sunday to 1620 Okabena Street to assist a female with stomach pain.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Ambulance was dispatched at 9:33 a.m. Monday to 409 Oxford Street for a male who was run over by a forklift.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated a report of broken car windows from a BB gun at 4:04 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Liberty Drive.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department cited a driver for driving after suspension at 6:55 p.m. Sunday at 12th Street and 3rd Avenue.

ADRIAN — The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office investigated a reported theft of a dog at 7:48 p.m. Sunday in the 24000 block of Ahlers Avenue.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated a report of property damage to a vehicle at 7:06 a.m. Monday in the 600 block of East Gateway Drive.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department issued a ticket to a juvenile for shoplifting at 2:04 p.m. Monday at Shopko.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department cited an individual for driving without a valid driver’s license at 3:25 p.m. Monday.
