GEORGE, Iowa — Two people were arrested Monday after the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at 8:30 p.m. Monday at a residence in rural George. Laura Kannegieter, 29, of George, was arrested and charged with domestic assault, a serious misdemeanor; and Robert Meyer, 60, of George, was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor.

CALUMET, Iowa — The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people on drug charges Tuesday. Joseph L. Jones, 40, of Calumet, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jennifer E. Eckhart, 38, of Calumet, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. Both were transported to the O’Brien County Jail. Jones was released on $1,000 bond, and Eckhart was held on a $1,000 bond.

CALUMET, Iowa — The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary that occurred in the early morning hours Tuesday at Dau Construction in Calumet. Entrance to the business was gained by force, and small tools were reported missing. The investigation is continuing.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated possible identity theft reported at 4:44 p.m. Tuesday at the Law Enforcement Center.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department cited a juvenile female for a curfew violation at 12:51 a.m. Tuesday.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated possible identity theft reported at 9:16 a.m. Wednesday at the Law Enforcement Center. A relative had used the person’s identification to open an account.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated an assault reported at 12:29 p.m. Wednesday from the 1500 block of East Avenue.

WORTHINGTON — Wal-Mart, 1055 Ryan’s Road, reported two juvenile male shoplifters at 3:04 p.m. Wednesday.
