GEORGE, Iowa — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two-vehicle accident reported at 5:40 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 230th Street and Kiwi Avenue, four miles southeast of George. A 2013 Case IH 7230 combine operated by Glenn Daniels, 48, of George, was traveling southbound and failed to the yield the right of way, striking a 1969 John Deere 4020 tractor operated by John Donaker, 48, of George, that was traveling eastbound. The combine sustained functional damage estimated at $4,000, and the tractor sustained disabling damages estimated at $1,000. Donaker was transported by the Lyon County Ambulance to Sanford Rock Rapids for his incapacitating injuries. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the George EMS, George Fire/Rescue, and the Lyon County Ambulance.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated an accident at 4:03 p.m. Monday in the 1300 block of Humiston Avenue.

RUSHMORE — The Sanford Ambulance and Rushmore Rescue Squad were dispatched at 5:02 p.m. to 27550 Fellows Ave. for a man who was down.

RUSHMORE — The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of illegal in-town burning at 6:26 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Thompson Avenue.

Births

Jesse and Heather Flynn, Worthington, are the parents of a girl, Katherine Mae, born Oct. 29 at Sanford Worthington Medical Center. Grandparents are Keith and Kathy Harberts and Jeff and Kathy Flynn, all of Worthington. Great-grandmother is Vivian Flynn, Worthington.
