Accidents

ASHTON, Iowa — The Osceola County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident at 4 p.m. Saturday on Highway 60. Zachary Lessard, 28, of Sioux City, Iowa, was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson when he rear ended a 1992 Dodge pickup, driven by Donald Keninger, 72, Ashton. Lessard was taken to the Osceola Community Hospital and was life flighted to Sioux Falls, S.D. Lessard’s vehicle sustained approximately $7,000 in damages and Keninger’s vehicle sustained approximately $1,500. The Ashton Ambulance, Ashton Fire Department and the Iowa State Patrol also responded.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated an accident at 10:14 a.m. Monday in the parking lot of the Avera Worthington Medical Group parking lot on Ryan’s Road.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated an accident at 1:29 p.m. Monday at McMillan Street and Oxford Street. The Worthington Ambulance was dispatched to the scene. An adult male was cited for failure to yield.

DUNDEE — The Fulda Ambulance was dispatched at 11:54 p.m. Sunday to 11111 Sundberg Ave.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Ambulance was dispatched at 12:59 a.m. Monday to JBS to assist a male with a back injury.

Fire

RUSHMORE — A report of a wind tower on fire was received at 7:16 p.m. Sunday from Interstate 90 near Rushmore.

Xcel Energy was contacted.

Police

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated illegal dumping reported at 10:50 a.m. Monday from the Fourth Avenue Alley in downtown Worthington.

WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office investigated illegal dumping reported at 12:08 p.m. Monday from Schaap Sanitation Service.

Births

Tim and Melody Braun, Lakefield, are the parents of a girl, Caitlyn Carol, born Oct. 3. Grandparents are Sue and Dawayne Preuss, Lakefield.
