Days of Olde begin Friday
OCHEYEDAN, Iowa -- Ocheyedan's Days of Olde celebration will be Friday through Sunday.
Events begin with a community concert featuring Rock A Cappella from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs. Ice cream will be served, and a free-will donation will be taken. Sponsored by the Ocheyedan Fire Department, the Great Plains Tractor Pullers pull will be for stock, open farm and open hot classes at 7 p.m. at the industrial park north of Ocheyedan.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday on Main Street. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. in the Ocheyedan Christian Reformed Church parking lot. A kids' pedal pull will be at 11 a.m. in the public school parking lot. The antique tractor pull also begins at 11 a.m. in the industrial park. There will also be a co-ed ball tournament at noon at the public school ball field; and Central Plains Truck Pullers event at 7 p.m. at the industrial park. Food stands will be available at all the pulls and the ball diamond.
On Sunday, an antique tractor ride gets under way at 9 a.m. a the public school parking lot with lunch served at the Chuck Virgil home near Sutherland, Iowa. The final Days of Olde event will be a community hymn sing at 7 p.m. in Ocheyedan City Park. Bring lawn chairs; refreshments will be served. In case of inclement weather, the hymn sing will be at Ocheyedan Town Hall.
