DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- A principal at a Des Moines high school said he was not injured when he was attacked by a non-student who was trying to enter the school.
Hoover High School principal Doug Wheeler told The Des Moines Register he was attacked on Wednesday. The incident happened about 11 a.m. when the school's security officers saw the male trying to enter the building. They stopped him and Wheeler asked him leave. Wheeler says the person refused and became violent.
School officials and police are investigating. Wheeler told the newspaper that he couldn't immediately provide more details.
A telephone call and an email by The Associated Press to police seeking more information weren't immediately returned.
