The total cost of construction is not to exceed $1,994,000. The district is proposing to finance the project through the use of existing funds available in the district’s general fund. The school board understands that pursuant to M.S. 475.65, funds contained in the district’s building construction fund, after an improvement has been completed, shall become part of the debt service fund, and may not be used to fund ineligible projects. Furthermore, the school board understands that only general fund dollars may be used to fund this project. The school board believes that this project is in the best interest of the school district.

REVIEW AND COMMENT STATEMENT

Based upon the Department’s analysis of the school district’s required documentation and other pertinent information from sources of the Minnesota Department of Education, the Commissioner of Education has judged the project to be educationally and economically advisable.
