Donations made to Worthington YMCA
WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Area YMCA's fund drive will benefit thanks to donations made by New Vision Coop, CoBank and the Land-O-Lakes Foundation.
New Vision Coop started the process with a commitment of $7,966. New Vision's business affiliation with CoBank and Land-O-Lakes qualified its donation with matching funds of $5,000 and $2,966.00, respectively. The three cooperatives are donating a total of $15,932 to the Worthington Area YMCA.
Additionally, the New Vision Coop Board of Directors has donated a total of $9,988 to area food shelves located in Luverne, Worthington, Heron Lake/Okabena, Windom, Mountain Lake and Mankato, and $4,000 to the Adrian Legion for its remodel project. These donations include matching funds earned through New Vision Coop's affiliation with Land-O-Lakes and the Land-O-Lakes Foundation.
"New Vision Coop is fortunate to be able to team up with CoBank and Land-O-Lakes to double the available dollars for the YMCA and Adrian Legion projects and area food shelves," said Frank McDowell, New Vision General Manager. "This example of cooperatives working together to improve our local communities is a long-standing tradition of cooperatives."
