Eagles knock off Falcons, 6-2, Canby wins marathon with Edgerton (baseball wrap-up)
WINDOM -- With the game tied at 2-all, the Windom Eagles scored a run in the bottom of the third and never looked back, beating Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove, 6-2, in a non-conference baseball contest Friday afternoon.
Sam Fischenich picked up the victory, allowing one hit while striking out two in four and one-third innings of work.
Ryan Gilbertson started for the Eagles (1-1), and gave up three hits and two unearned runs.
At the plate, Fischenich led Windom with three hits, including a pair of doubles.
Charlie Dunnick had a pair of hits and an RBI, while Sam Dewanz had an RBI double off the bench.
Josh Fredrickson suffered the loss for RRC/W-WG, allowing three earned runs in four and one-third innings of work.
Nate Bierman had an RBI for the Falcons, while Eric Altermatt had a pair of hits and an RBI.

Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial 14, ML/B-O 2
LAKE CRYSTAL -- With 13 runs in the first two innings, Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial came away with a non-conference baseball victory Friday.
Matt Strom scored two runs for Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin (1-3), and had a double.
Barrett Herrig had a hit and drove in two runs for the Wolverines, while Doug DeFrance had a double.
Steven Herrig suffered the loss, while Strom threw two innings of relief and allowed one run.
ML/B-O will travel to Welcome to face Fairmont in the Martin County West tournament today.

Canby 17, Edgerton 12
EDGERTON -- Canby used a seven-run third inning on its way to a high-scoring victory over the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen.
Canby (1-1) smacked 15 hits, including three each from Trevor Citrowske (double, home run, three RBIs) and Jake Long (three RBIs). Jordan Clarksean had a pair of hits and three RBIs.
Brady Vanderwaal led Edgerton's offense by going 3-for-4 with seven RBIs. He had a two-run single in the sixth and a three-run double in the seventh.
Jordan Gunnink (double) and Alex Elgersma (two runs, one RBI) were each 2-for-4 for the Flying Dutchmen (1-5).
Brandon Kamrath pitched the first four innings and had three strikeouts for Canby, while Alex Van't Hof was one of five pitchers used by Edgerton, which combined to strike out 10 Lancers.
Edgerton hosts RRC/W-WG Tuesday.
