Edgar William Paine

Edgar William Paine, 70, was born on April 22, 1943, in Kandiyohi County, MN, the son of Glenn and Geraldine (Mahon) Paine. He attended Worthington High School. Ed married Lucille Ling on April 29, 1961. He drove gas transport for Martin Oil Company until operating Paine’s Pub in Worthington. Ed and Lucille moved to the Alexandria, MN area in 1978 and operated Reno Inn and Resort. It had been a life wish to live on a lake. Ed retired in the Alexandria area before moving back to Worthington. He moved to Grand Forks, ND in February of 2012.

Ed was a member of the Worthington Fire Department, Forada Fire Department/First Responders, and a long-time member of the Elks Lodge. During his lifetime, Ed enjoyed hunting with friends, horseback riding, raising Arabian horses, and socializing with family and friends. Ed died on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND after an illness.

Ed is survived by his children, Chris (Naab) and Redgy Kiesow of Sioux Falls, SD, Michele (Naab) and Tim Doll of Dunnell, MN, Robin (Paine) and John Tracy of Grand Forks, ND, and Jeff and Gina (Venegas) Paine of Murrieta, CA; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Marge Higgins of The Villages, FL, Betty Jamieson of Quinter, KS, Dorothy Starner of Pipestone, MN, and Ruby Bryngelson of Worthington, MN, and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, parents, Glenn and Geraldine Paine, sister, Lois Stykel, and brothers, Orville and Jim Paine.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington, MN, with Father Jim Callahan officiating. Pallbearers will be Joshua Kiesow, Alekos Doll, Zachary Kiesow, Redgy Kiesow, Tim Doll, and John Tracy. Family burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worthington, MN.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, MN.
