EUNICE B. KAZEMBA, age 79 of Worthington, died, Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Sanford Worthington Medical Center. She was born September 16, 1934 in Gaylord, MN; to parents William and Emma (Kihn) Matthes. She attended Mankato Schools graduating from Mankato High School in 1952. Eunice then attended Mankato State College and graduated with a degree in elementary education. Eunice belonged to the Alpha Delta Sorority during her college years. She taught elementary grades in St. Louis Park, Fulda, Fairmont, Windom and Round Lake, MN.
Eunice was united in marriage to Kenneth Kazemba on July 14, 1962 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Mankato, MN. They lived in Worthington four years and then moved to Sioux Valley Township until 1996 when they retired from farming and moved into Worthington.
She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church for over 50 years and had been stewardship chairperson, belonged to the altar guild, gave children messages, helped with Sunday school and held various church offices. Eunice enjoyed traveling, reading and volunteering for various church organizations. She loved collecting Norman Rockwell figurines and Frosty Friends Christmas ornaments.
Eunice is survived by her husband, Kenneth Kazemba, Worthington; son, Paul (Dawn) Kazemba, rural Lakefield and grandson, Brendan Kazemba, rural Lakefield; a sister, Gloria (Frank) Evenson, St. George, Utah and a brother, Bill (Joan) Matthes, North Mankato. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 PM at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington and continue on Monday from 10 to 11 AM at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington. The service will be Monday at 11 AM at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington with Pastor Tom Braun and Pastor Joe Behnke officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Worthington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran School in Lakefield, Minn.
