EVELYN M. HAMPLE, 105, of Jackson, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Sanford Jackson Hospital. Funeral service will be on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 2:30PM at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Christopher Drew officiating. Burial will be following the service at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Jackson.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church.

EVELYN MARJORIE (NIELSON) HAMPLE was born on July 11, 1908 in Rembrandt, Iowa, the daughter of Willis Grant and Anna (Siefken) Caskey. She attended school at Rembrandt, Iowa. On April 25, 1928, she was united in marriage to George Nielson at the First Presbyterian Church in Fairmont. After marriage, they lived and farmed in Middletown Township until 1973.Winter retirement found her and George spending many years enjoying winters in Mesa, Arizona. She was married to George Nielson for 55 years. George passed away on May 30, 1983. She was a busy farm wife and mother, wonderful seamstress and in spare time she crocheted afghans to be given away and also raising a yard of beautiful flowers. She and George also maintained the flower gardens for many years for Natural's. On June 9, 1993, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Hample and they made their home in Jackson. Lloyd passed away on October 14, 2001. She continued to make her home in Jackson. In 2008, she became a resident of the Jackson Good Samaritan Center. Evelyn passed away at the Jackson Sanford Hospital on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the age of 105 years, 1 month and 15 days.

Evelyn had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson since 1924, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Presbyterian Church Women's club for many years. She was one of the founding members of the Middletown Women's Club, where she had been an officer. She was the clerk for the school board at District #60 for 30 years. She had been a 4-H leader with Bill Schneider, when he first started, for several years. She made macramé belts that were sold to Dayton's.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Robert (Lillian) Nielson, 2 daughters, Margie Lusk and Janet (Kenneth) Bargfrede, all of Jackson. stepson, Richard Hample and step-daughter, Lorna Bader;19 grandchildren,46 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Dorothy Blomgren of Osseo, MN, Opal Holmgren of Willmar and Joyce Clemons of Sheridan, WY.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, George and Lloyd, a daughter, Patricia Rentschler, a grandson, Scott Nielson, sons-in-law, David Rentschler and Charlie Lusk, Jr.; brothers, Raymond, Lawrence, Roy, Ernie, Richard, Donald, and Harold Caskey and a sister, Hazel Pederson.
