Federated outages down to 270 as of Sunday morning

8 a.m. Sunday update:

JACKSON -- 530 Federated members had power restored Saturday.

"We are down from 800 co-op members without power yesterday to 270 as of 7 a.m. Sunday," said Joe Marthaler, Federated's operations manager. "Today's focus involves crews rebuilding 21 miles of power lines due to downed poles. To give you an idea of how many poles that is, some stretches have 16 out of 20 poles downed per mile of line."

The three townships with the most outages are: Ewington Township with 66, Alba Township with 41 and Round Lake Township with 28 members without power. These are the areas with the miles of downed poles.

Crews will be working today in the following areas:

* Karian Peterson crews will be rebuilding lines in Wilder and Alba townships. Please note that some members in sections of Delafield Township will lose power for about two hours this morning as the crews work on rebuilding the three-phase line.

* BENCO and Brown County REA will be back restoring power in Ewington Township.

* Federated's line crews will be working Round Lake Township.

11:30 a.m. Saturday update

JACKSON - 200 Federated members had power restored Saturday morning.

"We are down from 800 co-op members to 600 without power as of 11:30 a.m. this morning," said Joe Marthaler, Federated's operations manager. "We know it's been a three long days without power. The line crews are working as hard and safely as they can to get as many members back on. We sure appreciate everybody's understanding and patience. It's not easy for members to feed livestock, go without water or the other modern conveniences powered by electricity."

This morning crews were working in the following areas:

* Karian Peterson crews are rebuilding lines in Delafield, Alba and Ewington townships.

* BENCO and Brown County REA are still restoring power in Rost Township.

* Federated's line crews will be working in LaCrosse, Hunter and West Heron Lake Townships.

Line crews will work as late as possible tonight and Sunday too.

Federated reminds members that it they see downed wires from the meter to the house or outbuildings those lines are their responsibility. Federated provides power up to the meter. Members should call their electricians to have those lines from the meter hooked up.

"We are down from 1,400 co-op members yesterday morning to about 800 without power as of 7 a.m. this morning," said Joe Marthaler, Federated's operations manager. "We have more than 55 linemen putting in more than 14 to 15-hour days."

The three townships with the most outages are: Ewington with 137, Rost with 101 and Alba with 88.

This morning crews will be working in the following areas:

* Karian Peterson crews will still be working in the following areas rebuilding lines: Delafield, Alba and Ewington Townships.

* BENCO and Brown County REA will be restoring power in Rost Township.

* Federated's line crews will be working in LaCrosse and Round Lake Townships.

Line crews will work as late as possible tonight.
