Feller now managing Worthington’s Pizza Ranch
WORTHINGTON — Shanee Feller has climbed her way to the top of the food chain.
After graduating from Fulda High School in 2001, she continued her education at Minnesota West Community and Technical College’s Worthington campus. She obtained her associate degree in human services with a focus in autism and behavior analysis.
“That’s really the work I love to do and am passionate about,” Feller said.
Prior to working at Pizza Ranch, Feller worked as an aid in group homes through District 518 prior to New Dawn’s purchase of the homes.
“In the homes, I worked with people ages 8 to 25, but because of the intensity of my work, my family and I thought it was best that I leave,” she said. “I would sometimes come home with scratches on my face and cuts, but that was just the work I loved. I loved helping the kids, but it did get to be too much.”
After that, Feller took a position at Subway for a short time before working part-time at Pizza Ranch.
“My cousin’s boyfriend actually told me about the position at the time, and when I applied I was hired on right away,” she said. “I started as part-time, but I worked my way up pretty fast because I consider myself a hard worker.”
Feller moved up the ranks from part-time employee to supervisor and assistant manager before accepting the general manager position last November.
“Since accepting the position I really love what I do here,” Feller said. “I love being the manager, and I still get to work with people with autism. Some of our employees are autistic, so I get to combine the work that I love.”
Feller shared some inside information as to what is new at the Worthington Pizza Ranch.
“We have changed some of our product and improved on it, and we’re also doing some remodeling,” she explained. “Our entire booth seats are getting reupholstered, and more changes will be coming.”
Feller is married to Josh Feller, and together they have three children — Desmond, 13, Raygan, 5, and Brayden, who is seven months old.
“We also have two other additions to our house — two dogs named Tyson and Sasha — so we’re a pretty full house,” Feller said, laughing.
