Flag expert to visit Pipestone
PIPESTONE —Maurice Bickford, who studies and collects information about flags, will be the presenter at the Pipestone County Museum’s next Brown Bag Lunch scheduled for noon Oct. 17.
Part of Bickford’s flag collections is currently on display at the museum as this quarter’s “Community Collection” and will remain there through the month. The exhibit includes a self-guided tour of 18 3x5 flags with an information sheet that provides the history of each flag, as well as information about the origins of Flag Day and the Pledge of Allegiance and smaller flags from other countries.
The Brown Bag Lunch series is free to the public. The community is invited to bring a sack lunch and eat while listening to the presentation. Brown Bag lunch programs at the Museum are generally scheduled for the third Thursday of every month.
The Pipestone County Museum is located at 113 S. Hiawatha Ave., Pipestone. For more information, call the museum at (507) 825-2563 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
