Fulda Wood Duck Festival celebrates 50 years of quality care
FULDA — The annual Fulda Wood Duck Festival kicked off Thursday with games and rides as well as the Big Band concert.
If you happened to not have made it out to the festivities yesterday, don’t worry — the weekend is still packed with fun-filled events for the whole family.
Today’s activities will begin at 4:30 p.m. when Cody Rides opens the midway. Also beginning at 4:30 is the community barbecue and pie at Fulda City Park that will run until 7 p.m.
At 5 p.m., the Kiddie Parade will begin at the Fulda City Park. Also at the park at 7 p.m. will be music from the Fulda High School Band.
A teen street dance will be from 9 p.m. until midnight, with fireworks over Fulda Lake to begin at dusk. The fireworks show will be choreographed to music on 95.1 FM.
At 11:30 p.m., a 50/50 split-the-pot drawing will at the Fulda Lions beer garden.
Saturday’s schedule is again packed full of events.
Registration for the bike ride and the Fulda Wood Duck 5k Run begins at 7:30 a.m., with the bike ride beginning at 8 a.m. and the 5k run starting at 8:30 a.m. Registration for the Fulda Wood Duck 5k walk is at 8 a.m., with the walk beginning at 9:15 a.m. The kids one-mile fun run starts at 9:45 a.m. All runs and walks will start at Fulda High School.
The Kids Fishing Contest will be from 10 a.m. until noon at the Fulda Lake T-Dock. A three-on-three basketball tournament will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fulda Depot is an Antique Gas Engine and Tractor Show. The midway will open at 1 p.m. and be available through midnight, and Fulda Cannoneers will be at the Fulda Watertower at 2 p.m.
The 2014 grand parade begins at 6 p.m. — walking tacos will be served before and after — and the Fulda Lions Street Dance and a 50/50 split-the-pot drawing is set for 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. in the Fulda Lions beer garden.
On Sunday, the Fulda Fireman’s Pancake Feed will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fulda Community/Legion Hall. At 11:30 a.m., the Kiddie Tractor Pull registration will begin in Fulda City Park, with the pull starting at noon. Family Fun in the Park with Bob and The Beachcombers will be from noon until 5 p.m.
A silent auction will also be from noon until 4:30 p.m. in the park. The Community Club Food Stand will also be open in the park from noon until 5 p.m.
Local food stands will be available throughout the events today, Saturday and Sunday.
Fulda memorabilia will be on sale from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the tent by the city park, as well as from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
