GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Engen leads RRC past Ellsworth
ELLSWORTH -- Thea Engen had 24 points, 23 rebounds, six assists and four steals Saturday to lead Red Rock Central to a 70-55 victory over Ellsworth.
The game was tied 38-38 at halftime, but RRC pulled away in the final 18 minutes.
Krystle Sell had 17 points and four assists, and Alyssa Fredrickson scored 13 points for RRC, which went 18-for-28 from the free-throw line. Stephanie Maras added eight points, seven rebounds and eight assists.
Brooke Kix had 20 points and eight assists, and Rayna Sandoval had 11 points for Ellsworth. Andrea DeBoer added 10 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals.
RRC (11-2, 9-0), which, along with Adrian, is undefeated in the Red Rock Conference, will travel to face the Dragons on Tuesday. Ellsworth (7-7, 4-5) will travel to face Edgerton on Tuesday.

ROUND LAKE -- Brittany Hulstein scored 19 points, and Lane Gehl added 17 to lead Fulda past Round Lake-Brewster.
Courtney Hulstein and Amy Paulzine each added 11 points for the Raiders, who led by 12 at halftime.
Mara Eichenberger scored a game-high 20 points, and April Wallace had 10 points and six rebounds to lead RL-B. Karen Schmitz added seven points and seven rebounds, and Chelsea Meyer scored nine points.
It was the Raiders' third victory in their past four games after starting the season 5-5.
Fulda will travel to face Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin, and RL-B will host Southwest Christian on Tuesday.

EDGERTON -- Emily Bose scored 18 points, and Colleen Everson added 12 to lead Murray County Central, which held Edgerton to just seven points in the first half.
Katie Hadler had 10 points, and Alyson Drooger pulled down 12 rebounds to lead Edgerton (5-5), which will host Lincoln HI tonight.
MCC (10-6) will travel to face Southwest Star Concept on Tuesday.

PIPESTONE -- Kelsey Guetter scored 17 points, Jessica Fischer had 16 and Laura Houghton 13 to lead Redwood Valley to an upset victory over Pipestone Area.
The Cardinals, who rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit, hadn't defeated the Arrows in more than five years prior to Saturday night.
Brooke Woelber had 16 points, and Megan Vanderpoel had 14 to lead Pipestone Area. Rachel Tinklenberg added 11 points, Bailey Bouman had seven and Bree Woelber scored five.
