It was the season finale for the Cardinals, who received the No. 3 seed in the Section 3A tournament and will host fifth-seeded Redwood Valley on Feb. 13.

Luverne defeated Redwood Valley twice this season by a combined score of 18-2.

"The girls played really well, and we worked on a few things in the third period and changed some things around," Luverne coach Dave Siebenahler said. "So the girls are coming around; we just have to be ready to peak here going into sections."

Lauren Christensen, Morgan Sommers and Paige Olson each added a goal for Luverne (10-2). Olson had three assists, and Dahl, Sommers and Katie Eeten each added two assists.

Kelsey Theesfeld made eight saves in goal and recorded a shutout for the Cardinals.
