After a wet and windy regular season, the high school playoffs fire up in earnest this week.

In Section 3AA softball, Pipestone Area earned the No. 1 seed in the south and a bye through the first round. The Arrows will take on the winner of the 4 p.m. Tuesday game in Pipestone between No. 4 Luverne and No. 5 Fairmont at 5:30 p.m. in the sub-section semifinals. In that same bracket, No. 3 Jackson County Central will open against No. 6 Worthington at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Harmen Field in New Ulm.

Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian took the top spot in Section 3A South and will play the winner of Friday’s pigtail game at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Edgerton. Fourth-seeded Springfield and No. 5 Southwestern United will play immediately following that game in Edgerton, with the winners of both facing off at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Windom Area, after taking an 11-1 win over Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove in Friday’s pigtail game, will play second-seeded Wabasso at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Wabasso. Murray County Central and Adrian will take the field in a No. 3 vs. No. 6 matchup at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in Wabasso.

In boys tennis, Luverne earned the top spot with its undefeated season and will open the postseason at 4 p.m. Monday in Luverne against No. 8 MACCRAY. Pipestone Area earned the No. 4-seed and will do battle with No. 5 Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Pipestone with No. 3 Worthington opening the Class 3A Section Tournament at home against No. 6 Redwood Valley at 4 p.m. Monday. The winners of those games will play Tuesday in Redwood Falls in the section semifinals and finals.

Windom Area is the No. 2 seed in the Section 3A South baseball tournament and will open play at 11 a.m. Saturday on its home field. There, the Eagles will play the winner of No. 7 E/SWC and No. 10 Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, who play each other at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Edgerton. Adrian earned the No. 3 seed and will take on No. 6 Wabasso at 1 p.m. Saturday in Windom for its opening-round contest. In the top half of that bracket, No. 8 Tracy-Milroy-Balaton will play ninth-seeded Southwestern United at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Tracy for the right to move on and play No. 1 Springfield at 11 a.m. Saturday in Springfield. Mountain Lake Area, the fourth-seed, will play No. 5 Murray County Central at 1 p.m. Saturday in Springfield.

The Section 3A South golf tournament will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Worthington Country Club. Class 3AA will also be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Prairie View Golf Links. The Worthington and Luverne golf teams will get their postseasons started Wednesday in Tyler.

The Class 3A Sub-Section 10 track and field meet will be Wednesday afternoon in Luverne. Class 3A Sub-Section 9 will be held Thursday at Windom.
