Hoffman is new nurse manager at SWMC
WORTHINGTON -- Sanford Worthington Medical Center has announced that Laura Hoffman has become the nurse manager for the Critical Care Unit, in addition to the Medical-Surgical unit she currently manages.
Hoffman earned her master of science in nursing degree in August 2012 from Walden University.
Her career with Sanford Worthington Medical Center began in July 2007 as a registered nurse in the medical-surgical unit. She also worked in the OB unit, as a resource nurse and as an administrative supervisor prior to starting as the nurse manager.
Prior to her career as a nurse, Hoffman earned a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish and criminal justice from the University of South Dakota, and worked several years in bilingual sales and customer service. She has found these skills useful when assisting patients, and especially the Spanish-speaking patients served in Worthington.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my role as a nurse leader at SWMC," Hoffman said in a press release. "I am fortunate to work with an excellent group of dedicated nurses who work diligently to provide excellent, patient-centered care. This community is fortunate to have dedicated professionals like ours who care so deeply about the wellbeing of its members."
Hoffman lives in Worthington with her husband, Brad, and 7-year-old labrador retriever, Boone. She enjoys spending time outside, hunting, walking, campfires and spending as much time with family as she can.
