Holiday hours at local offices, stores
WORTHINGTON — Many local businesses will close early today in observance of Christmas Eve, and most will be closed on Christmas Day.
Worthington city offices and Nobles County offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and will be closed on Christmas Day.
The Worthington Chamber of Commerce will be open from 8 a.m. to noon today.
The Worthington Post Office will be open from 8 a.m. to noon today. There is no mail delivery Wednesday and the post office is closed.
The Worthington Library will close at 3 p.m. today.
All Worthington financial institutions are closed on Christmas Day, and Christmas Eve hours are as follows: Bank of the West, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Worthington Federal Savings Bank, 8:30 a.m. a.m. to noon; First State Bank Southwest, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Rolling Hills Bank, 8:30 a.m. to noon; United Prairie Bank, 8:30 a.m. to noon; Wells Fargo Bank, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Fulda Area Credit Union 9 a.m. to noon.
All local grocery stores will be closed on Christmas: Hy-Vee Food Store will close at 5 p.m. today; Fareway will close at 6 p.m. today; and Wal-Mart will close at 8 p.m. today.
Garbage and recycling will not be picked up on Wednesday; routes scheduled for Wednesday pickup will be done on Thursday.
The Daily Globe office will close at noon today. The newspaper will not publish on Wednesday. Publication and normal business hours resume Thursday.
