LARCHWOOD, Iowa -- Sibley-Ocheyedan gave Siouxland Conference foe West Lyon a battle on the road Monday, but one rough inning made things look a little more lopsided than they actually were.

The final score of 10-1 in favor of the Wildcats wasn't very truthful in the way the game actually went, according to Generals' coach Marshall Doeden.

"I think it was a lot better than what the score makes it seem like," he said.

West Lyon scored one run in the third and three in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead. The Generals got one back in the top of the fifth, but the Wildcats used some near-miss walks by S-O to get the offense working. They scored six more runs to put the game on ice.

Jameson Cosgrove allowed five earned runs on five hits and six walks over five innings of work. He also struck out five in the loss for the Generals.

Logan Heibult led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 in the loss. Trent Kruger, Matt Naig, Zach Vanenga and Garrett Sayler had a hit each with Kruger adding an RBI.
