Iowa high school softball: Sheldon blisters MOC/FV
ORANGE CITY, Iowa — The Sheldon softball team needed only four innings Tuesday to take a 13-run thrashing of MOC-Floyd Valley.
The Orabs’ offense had a big night. They out-hit the Dutchmen 14-6 and ended the night early with a 15-2 Siouxland Conference victory.
Sheldon scored five runs in the second and added six in the third to jump out to a 12-0 lead before the MOC-FV finally broke through with a run of its own. But three more in the fourth sealed it.
Caitlin Cain was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored to jumpstart the Orabs’ offense from the leadoff spot. Mackensey Radke was 2-for-3 with two batted in and two scored. Kelsey Den Hartog and Kati Kneifl were both 2-for-2, with Den Hartog scoring twice and pushing two runs in and Kneifl scoring three times.
Sami Kleinwolterink allowed one earned run on six hits and struck out one in the win for the Orabs.
