Jackson I-90 bridge repairs continue
JACKSON — Interstate 90 motorists in southwest Minnesota are advised of a traffic change on I-90 in the Jackson area later next week, as construction work shifts from bridges in the westbound direction to eastbound bridges.
On or after Wednesday, two-lane two-way traffic will shift from the eastbound lanes of I-90 to the westbound lanes with reduced speeds until late September. A posted detour route will be placed for eastbound I-90 traffic for access to U.S. 71 and the city of Jackson. This traffic will be routed off I-90 at Minnesota 86 and follow a posted detour (Jackson County 34) into Jackson.
The project includes work on four bridges at Jackson and four at Adrian. Crews will repair decks, rails, approach panels, drainage and paint the steel to keep them in good condition and improve the ride for the motorists. Guardrail improvements will also be made.
PCI Roads of St. Michael was awarded the project with a bid of $3.9 million.
