JCC students earn honors at State History Day
ST. PAUL -- Three Jackson County Central Middle School students earned honorable mentions during the State History Day competition May 1 at the University of Minnesota.
Justin Petersen received an honorable mention for his website about Henry Ford and the assembly line in the Junior Individual Web site category. Emma Lilleberg and Shelby Benson earned the honor for "Seeing Fingers" in the Junior Group Exhibit category. Also competing from JCC were Naomi Troe in the Junior Individual Exhibit category; Jersee Pohlman, Junior Individual Documentary; and Michael Miller and Luke Pygman, Junior Group Exhibit category.
Worthington Middle School sent three groups in the Junior Group Documentary category: Mackenzie Brandt and Andrea Duarte, Alex Tang and John Martin, and Jessica Arnt and Alicia Darling.
Those awarded first or second place will advance to the national competition in June in College Park, Md.
